I'm sure you've taken great care of your 1985 LeBaron convertible. I trust when you say it's very, very clean. I will, however, take exception to your assertion that it is so clean that I could eat off of the underside.

Sadly, looking at your car provokes such violent nausea that I'm afraid I would be unable to eat anything at all for several hours after viewing it, no matter how antiseptic the environs.

I think this falls under the classic 'polished turd' saying.

You can polish a turd if you electroplate it first, but if that happens, somebody needs to clarify the person who would do such a thing on the value of turds.

Yeah. I do that while I wait for some other work to compile on my machine.

If he took such good care of it, where's the wood paneling on the front?

You can have the fenders with the vents if you have the wood paneling. Hard choices must be made.

Depending on the options, they ran between $13k-$16k new in 1985.

Sounds like a ripoff even before adjusting for inflation.

But it's a Chrysler! It's what the stars and society people drive! It's sophisticated, not like those freedom-hating Germans or Japs and their reliable engines and comfortable seats!

The guy selling it is the world's biggest (only?) K-Car freak. He had another one very similar to that car that I used to see around the neighborhood.

Maybe some overmonied hipster will pay up. Fake wood paneling is the new fixed gear bike.

That is in really beautiful shape though. Even the customization I don't mind so much, since they fit the character of the car and actually make it look even closer to the '40s Town & Countries Chrysler was trying to emulate.
